Contrary to theories that is more effective to lose weight slowly but steadily, a recent research, presented at 11th International Congress on Obesity, Stockholm showed that there was a higher rate of success and ended up down more than those who had followed a strict diet and quickly.

Dietitian Katrina Purcell, University of Melbourne, studied people with an approximate weight of 100 kg to 1.5 kg lost per week for 12 weeks, compared with those who had a diet to lose 0.5 kg a week for 36, had better outcomes

When comparing both groups, 78% of people crash diet achieved the goal of the loss of 15% of their body weight during the period, while only 48% of those with progressive diet met their objectives.

Also, Purcell added that it was necessary for a quick diet is advised by a doctor or nutritionist, to maintain the nutritional needs covered.

Btw I have discovered this in my old body, so there is no much news to me, but always is good to have the scientific evidence.
